Ministry to Children and Youth
At Sojourn, we are a family. We truly believe that "children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." (Psalm 127:3) We see children as a huge part of God's kingdom and the Sojourn family! The children of our church are a part of this family and we value making disciples of these children within the context of the rhythms of Sojourn. Our commitment at Sojourn is to empower parents to be the primary disciple makers of their children with the Sojourn family coming alongside this journey to help train them in the faith and righteousness.
On Sundays, the children worship alongside their parents to watch and learn how to worship God with the Sojourn family. There is a specific children’s sermon and teaching time that is a part of the main worship gathering as well as space for families to utilize for wiggles, giggles and young childhood development if needed.
During the week, children are a part of our Community Groups and not a side note. Each group welcomes and enjoys having children of all ages participate in the group life.
On the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, Sojourn has Kidz Trek and Youth Trek which is a gospel-centered hour of worship, Bible teaching and gospel-activities geared toward making disciples of our children from birth to 18. Kidz Trek takes place at 6:30-7:30pm at Temple Baptist Church in North Fargo.
Middle School and High School students are also an important part of the Sojourn Church family. We are committed to helping parents fulfill their role as the primary disciple makers of these students, and the Sojourn family comes alongside them to continue their growth into faith in Christ and Christlikeness.
As with our children, we desire that youth age students remain a vital and important part of the Sojourn family. They are involved in our worship gathering each week and also in our community groups alongside younger children and older adults.
Like Kidz Trek above, Youth Trek takes place on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at Temple Baptist Church from 6:30 pm -7:30 pm. This is a time of fellowship, Bible Study, and prayer for our students.
Sojourn also partners with sisters churches through the South Valley Baptist Association for monthly youth Bible Studies, fellowships, and outreach events.
